│ UPLOADING PREPARED MESSAGES │
│ │
│ Prepare your message text with your favorite editor and save it as │
│ ASCII or Generic text. Note the filename and the directory it's in. │
│ The procedures here are for using the ANSI Full Screen Editor but you │
│ may also use the Line Editor if you prefer. It's much easier to make │
│ changes to your message using the ANSI Full Screen Editor. │
│ │
│ You may be able to use ANSI Graphics with your monochrome Monitor. │
│ │
│ 1. Make sure you are at the Message Menu where you wish to upload the │
│ message and select <E>nter/Post a Message. │
│ │
│ 2. After answering "Who is Message to?" and entering the Subject, the │
│ editor will prepare the screen for your message. Press <Page Up> │
│ if you are using ProComm or the appropriate key to select uploads │
│ for your terminal program. │

│ 3. Select <A>SCII for the protocol. XModem, YModem, and ZModem will │
│ not work and may lock up the editor. When prompted, enter the │
│ path and filename for your ASCII text file. It should look some- │
│ thing like: C:\PCPLUS\UPLOADS\FILENAME.EXT and press <Enter>. │
│ │
│ 4. Don't panic if it looks like a mess. ProComm and other terminal │
│ programs often send the ANSI positioning codes which are not used │
│ immediately. When your computer beeps to let you know the upload │
│ is finished press <Ctrl-K> <Ctrl-R> to redraw the screen. This is │
│ also handy if noise has cluttered up your message. │
│ │
│ 5. You can now add to the uploaded text or make edit changes. Press │
│ the <F1> key to display the key commands Help Panels for the full │
│ screen editor. │

│ 6. To reformat the margins for a paragraph <Ctrl-K><Ctrl-R> will do it │
│ sometimes. To close up a line, move the cursor to the beginning of │
│ the line you want moved upwards and press <Backspace> and then the │
│ <Space Bar>. The <Home> and <End> keys will let you move faster to │
│ the beginning or end of a line. │
│ │
│ 7. When you are happy with your message, press <Ctrl-Z> to save it. │
│ │
│ │
│ Please leave me a note if you have any questions. │
